Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are doing so much together these days. Dates. Church. Vacations. Each other.

Selena's mom head a breakdown and was hospitalized in reaction to Jelena rearing its ugly head.

And apparently Selena's rekindled relationship with the Biebs is causing even more problems.

A few months ago, when Justin Bieber called Mandy Teefey and asked to be reconnected with Selena Gomez, if Mandy had known where it would lead, we imagine that she would have hung up.

(You can't really slam down a phone to hang it up like you could in the olden days, but she'd sure have pushed that end button with a lot of vigor)

See, Justin Bieber's mom loves Selena Gomez (because of course she does!).

But Selena's mom is not so crazy about the singer she must remember as a poorly behaved boy with alleged substance abuse issues, anger problems, who has spent he last few years covering his once-beautiful body in some truly ugly tattoos.

Reportedly, it was only when Mandy learned that Selena and Justin were getting couples counseling to resolve the issues that had tripped them up in the past that it hit her:

Jelena 2.0 is for real.

We don't know if she thought of it in those words (probably not), but to say that she was upset is an understatement.

So, Mandy Teefey had a breakdown and went to the hospital over it.

Note that she was there of her own free will -- this was not an involuntary psych hold. We're glad that she had the self-awareness to know that she needed some medical attention.

And yes, we know that "mom freaked out so much about daughter's boyfriend she had a breakdown" sounds like the fakest story ever, but it comes from TMZ and they are very diligent about making sure that they can confirm whatever they report.

That her daughter was going to therapy with her ex meant that it was serious, that Selena's revisiting past mistakes and that Mandy's nightmare has returned.

And apparently Selena and her mom have had it out over their disagreement -- both have reportedly unfollowed the other on Instagram, for the time being.

As unhappy as Mandy is, Selena isn't exactly thrilled, either.

HollywoodLife reports that their source close to Selena says that Selena herself isn't loving the conflict.

"Selena is heartbroken that her relationship with Justin is creating problems with her mother and the rest of her family."

Remember, it's not just Selena's mom -- Selena's whole family hates Justin. They remember him as her crappy, less talented boyfriend who wasted years of her life.

"Selena feels like she is being forced to choose sides between pleasing her mother and following her heart."

Of course.

"Selena has loved Justin for years, despite everything, good and bad. They have been through so much together and she still loves him."

Justin's like a bad habit that Selena just can't shake, and she's off the wagon.

"Selena is struggling to get her mother to understand how much Justin has grown, matured and changed, but Mandy refuses to keep an open mind about Selena’s future with Justin."

We'd argue that Mandy doesn't need to keep an open mind -- just to keep her thoughts to herself. We'll explain in a moment.

"Selena feels like she is being forced to choose between being in love with Justin and making her family happy."

Her family's more concerned about Selena's health and future and happiness than their own right now. But, wrapped up in the idea of Justin (but not the reality), perhaps Selena can't see that.

"Selena knows that her mom is doing her best to protect her, but it still doesn’t feel good that Selena’s relationship with Justin is creating so much anxiety for her family."

We're not saying that, in general, people should let their parents dictate their romantic choices.

In this case, though, Selena's mom might have it right. At least, Justin Bieber, "changed" or not, is bad news. Just because he has a nice butt doesn't mean that Selena needs to repeat past emotional labors to turn him into the perfect boyfriend. He'll never be that.

That said, we think that Mandy is clearly going about this wrong.

Unless your child's dating an absolute monster, the best thing to do (and this works if your friend is dating or even your mother) is to gently state your reservations at the beginning, and then grin and bear it until they realize their mistake.

Selena is brilliant and beautiful but right now, she's riding an emotional high. Anybody with an ex, especially an ex they had during a formative time in their lives, can tell you that rekindling things with them brings out a rush.

If Selena's mom winding up in the hospital isn't enough to break up Jelena, then, for the time being, nothing will.

But in a few weeks or months or years, Mandy can give Selena a shoulder to cry on. And perhaps a very gentle "I told you so."

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez ought to be applauded for seeking professional help.

The stars have been riding a roller coaster of love for half a decade now and it's admirable that they realize this latest reconciliation must be taken seriously.

There's no messing around anymore!

They are no longer kids! It's now or never!

That said, however, fans may be a bit taken aback over the reason why Justin and Selena are, according to TMZ sources, in couples therapy.

It's all due to... Hailey Baldwin?!?

Sources close to Hillsong Church tell the aforementioned celebrity gossip site that Bieber has been trying to make amends across the board.

The singer has acted like a pretty huge douchebag for years now, after all.

In doing so, through, Bieber reportedly reached out to Baldwin in order to apologize for their breakup, which followed a pretty brief fling... and this didn't sit too well with Gomez.

It led to a huge fight.

To Justin and Selena's credit, at least, they didn't just throw in the romantic towel in response to this blowout.

They decided to try Christian couples therapy, which likely explains why Bieber has been sharing so many profound messages on his Instagram account of late.

To wit:

It certainly appears as if Bieber and Gomez are in this relationship for the long run, much to the dismay of the latter's mother.

As previously reported, Mandy Teefey actually suffered some kind of breakdown last week upon discussing her daughter's future with Bieber.

For understandable reasons, most people close to Selena aren't very big fans of Bieber, not after all he has put their loved one through.

But Selena's mom has supposedly given her child room to decide for herself how things will play out with Bieber.

Not that this means the two have made up entirely.

In fact, Selena and her mom no longer follow each other on Instagram.

According to a new Star Magazine report, the mother/daughter relationship may not improve any time soon, either.

Not if things continue along this path between Justin and Selena.

"Justin has taken Selena for granted once before; that won’t happen again,” an insider tells the tabloid adding:

“Justin knows he has to prove himself... life is short and Justin knows that things could change for the worse at any moment."

Indeed, it had previously been reported that Bieber was inspired to start doing Selena again after she received a kidney transplant and he realized he might lose her forever.

Star even writes that Bieber would propose right at this very minute if he thought Selena would say yes.

First, though, there are plenty of hoops the singer has to jump through.

It may take a long time for Gomez to fully trust Justin again, but she's clearly headed in that direction.

Does this mean a ring may be placed on her finger by this time next year?!?

Selena's mom, Mandy Teefey, doesn't love that she's back with her ex. To the point where Mandy had a breakdown and went to the hospital because she couldn't deal with it.

However, we're hearing a claim that there's more to Selena's tensions with her mom than the Biebs.

And apparently, it's a beef that goes back for years.

Selena's mom, Mandy Teefey, was distressed -- to the point where she required hospitalization -- when she learned that Selena and Justin are in couples therapy.

This isn't one of those Scientology things where Mandy's just super anti-therapy or whatever.

No, what had Mandy so bent out of shape was the haunting, ugly realization that Selena's little reunion with Justin wasn't just a temporary thing.

Selena seems to be serious about resuming her relationship with the Biebs.

And quite frankly, that's every mother's nightmare.

No, this isn't just about the fact that Justin Bieber isn't hot anymore.

This is a bit more serious.

The reason that Selena Gomez's whole family hates Justin is because they had front-row seats to the damage that her relationship with him did to mental health and her emotional well-being.

Now they're watching her fight Lupus and are worried that she'll soon be fighting on two fronts as Justin's personal issues and bad behavior once again take their toll on the talented singer.

Besides, he wasted years of her youth before she got Lupus. Even if his behavior is totally different now, that's not something that a mother could forgive easily.

If at all.

However, E! reports that there's more putting a strain on Selena's relationship with her mom than just her choice in penises.

"Selena has always said that the one person that means the most to her is her mom, Mandy."

However, this source says that not everything's perfect in their dynamic.

"But still, they've had a really complicated relationship and have gone through a lot of ups and downs."

Everybody has their ups and downs -- even if you have a great relationship with your mom.

But apparently, for Selena, the low points could be really, really low.

There was apparently an "entire year" during which Selena and Mandy didn't speak, after Selena dropped Mandy as her manager back in 2014.

"It caused a huge rift in their relationship. Mandy wouldn't even let Selena talk to her sister for a long time."

That sounds awful.

"Mandy and Selena's stepdad really did everything they could for Selena."

That stepdad being Brian Teefey. Though, to be fair, that's your obligation as parents. You don't get a prize for that.

"So when she fired her it took a toll on Mandy emotionally and professionally."

"Mandy lost her clout as a manager after Selena left. It caused a major rift in their relationship but they eventually reconnected."

Honestly? We're totally Team Mandy when it comes to the resurrection of Jelena.

(We do think that she's going about it the wrong way. Just say a few words, then outwardly accept it, suffer in silence, and then offer her a shoulder to cry on when she realizes her mistake)

But, based on this, it sounds like Selena was in the right back in 2014. She was, what, 22?

That's old enough to have a manager that's not your mom. It sounds like Mandy may have just taken that the wrong way.

Go ahead and throw shade, haters.

Go ahead and have your doubts.

Selena Gomez is reportedly aware of them and doesn't care about them.

The singer is no dummy. She's well aware of what you're probably thinking and/or saying when it comes to her decision to get back into bed with Justin Bieber.

This is the same douchebag that hurt her again and again over the years, right?

The same spoiled brat who never treated Selena in the way she deserved, right?

So why would yet another attempt at romance actually work this time for the artists?

It's simple, Gomez has supposedly told those around her. 

This time around, Selena swears, both she and her famous boyfriend have turned their lives over to a higher power.

“Selena swears that her relationship with Justin is different because they both have finally found God," an insider recently explained to Radar Online.

This may sound like a bunch of malarkey to some people.

However, Bieber canceled a handful of tour dates last fall because he rededicated himself to church.

Multiple sources have spoken on record about how Justin is all about Jesus these days, even more so than before.

He and Selena have been attending church on the reg and even going to couples therapy as well. They do seem aware that this really is it for them.

If they can't make their relationship work now, they never will.

Moreover, Gomez underwent a kidney transplant last year. It makes sense that she may have become more religious as a result.

Selena and Justin aren't really hiding their romance, either.

They both went to Cabo over New Year's and they attended a private pilates session yesterday.

A source tells E! News that the high-profile duo took a private class with the owner of the studio, adding that Selena was thrilled Bieber chose to take the class with her and that the stars had a "blast" there.

Paparazzi cameras snapped pictures of the pair leaving the studio in Los Angeles.

Still, the romance isn't sitting well with those close to Selena.

You can't really blame them for not trusting Bieber, can you?

There's tension between Selena and her mother, the latter of whom reportedly suffered a breakdown over the news that her child was back to banging Bieber.

That may seem extreme and is certainly unfortunate, but at least Justin seems aware of how awkward everything is right now.

“Justin has been trying really hard to prove Selena’s mom that he will not hurt her again,” a friend told Radar, adding:

“Selena’s entire family is very weary.”

Sometimes, relationships can leave a family divided. Though the fact that Selena Gomez's mom was hospitalized over her seeing Bieber again makes this family squabble an extreme case.

For a while now, Selena's feud with her mother over her rekindled romance with Justin Bieber has kept the two at odds.

But fans think that Selena's new Instagram post means that the two have made nice. Have they? If so ... where does that leave Bieber?

So, a quick refresher.

Remember how Selena Gomez wasted some of the best years of her life ... sorry, remember how Selena dated Justin Bieber off and on for years despite his alleged substance abuse issues and reported emotional issues and well-documented bad behavior?

A few years ago, they finally broke it off "for good" ... until a few months ago.

See, Justin had seen the story about Selena's life-saving kidney transplant. Lupus has been taking a brutal toll on her body, folks.

And apparent, it took seeing how bad his ex's condition really was for the Biebs to realize how much le really cared about Selena.

He called her mom to beg for her number, just to talk. Well, one thing led to another.

Since their reunion, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have been in couples therapy. They have a lot of issues to work past if they're going to stay a couple.

And it was that -- learning that they're in therapy together -- that sent Selena's mom, Mandy Teefey, over the edge. To the point where she was (voluntarily) hospitalized for a short time.

We don't think that their reunion seemed real to her until she learned about the counseling. And then she had to have wondered if she'd doomed her own daughter to repeat past mistakes.

Selena and her mom have had other conflicts, including a pretty intense one several years ago.

At that time, Gomez decided that she was an adult and didn't need her mother to be her manager anymore.

But it looks like Bieber's presence in Selena's life has pushed her family to the breaking point. Until now. ...

Selena posted this photo with the caption:

"The home I grew up in, from birth to 13..."

Apparently she doesn't own the house, because she added:

"(no one was home when I knocked this time lol) I visit this place every chance I get."

It says good things about your childhood when you go back, as a millionaire adult, to do anything other than purchase it and personally bulldoze it.

"In many ways it very well could have been better than my life today, but I’m grateful for a voice that can enable change today."

Childhood, for those who enjoyed it, can be a simpler time with fewer stresses.

"Even when I don’t know how to do it well or actually want it. I love you Grand Prairie. Thank you."

Technically, Selena doesn't mention her mother in that.

But she's still talking about her childhood home, while sitting on the little old porch.

She grew up with her mom, so what else could she be contemplating, one wonders, than the importance of her relationship with her mother?

Up until now, there have been indications that Selena Gomez wants to mend things with mom but not at the cost of Bieber.

Have her priorities changed?

Maybe ... maybe not.

Just because two loving family members reconcile or are thinking about reconciling doesn't mean that either of them have changed their minds.

It just means that they've decided -- maybe -- that their relationship and bond is more important than their topic of disagreement.

Really, if Mandy Teefey wants to see them break up, she should just wait for Justin to screw things up on his own.

Hopefully, if he does, and Selena sees that he's not magically a different person just because he's going to fancy celebrity church now, she'll back out before she's once again in too deep.

But Mandy Teefey must worry about the potential toll that dating Bieber could take on Selena's mental and emotional well being. And her physical health, quite frankly.

Selena Gomez is seeing Justin Bieber again.

While the rest of us are content to whisper "I wish you made better choices but I love you" at our screens as we like her Instagram photos, her mom is not taking it well.

In fact, Selena's mom got so upset that she had to be hospitalized. But recently, there had been signs that things were improving.

Now, though, this mother-daughter feud is worse than ever. And we know why.

Recently, we saw signs that perhaps Selena had settled her feud with mom Mandy Teefey.

So, after Justin saw that Selena had gotten a kidney transplant, it apparently occurred to him how much he loved Selena.

That it took her brush with death to make him realize that is ... one of the most dumbass things I've ever heard.

Anyway, Justin called Selena's mom and begged her to put him in touch with his ex. Mandy apparently didn't see the harm. She must be regretting that right about now.

Whens he realized that Selena and Justin are in couples counseling together, it finally hit her that this Jelena reunion is for real.

Like the rest of Selena's family, she doesn't like Justin and worries about his effect on Selena.

But when Selena posted this photo, many hoped that this was a sign that mother and daughter had patched things up.

Selena isn't sitting on just any ol' porch in this here pic ...

She's sitting on the porch of her childhood home. Other people live there now, which must be weird on a few levels.

But the fact that Selena clearly had her childhood home in mind suggested to a lot of people that perhaps she had patched things up with her mom.

Sometimes, people who experience strong negative emotions just have tempers flare and it takes a few weeks or even a few months for the people involved to cool off.

Plus, family tends to push your buttons more than anything else. 

But, with rare exceptions (like abuse or other toxic family things), usually people end up setting aside their differences because of their family bond.

So, did Selena and Mandy mend their fences?

Maybe they had ... but that's definitely no longer the case, according to this report by Radar Online.

Apparently, things were going better between Selena and her mom ... up until New Year's Eve.

Because, per this report, Mandy was very unhappy that Selena and Justin went to Mexico to ring in 2018 instead of Selena spending time with her family.

(Honestly, it's weird to imagine that Selena would have welcomed 2018 with her family anyway; she has a whole gaggle of friends and she's a young, beautiful celebrity)

And then things got worse.

RadarOnline's source reports that Selena and her mom "have been going back and forth with each other over Justin, and Selena doesn’t want to hear it anymore from her."

And it was what Selena said in response that really made things worse.

"So after Mandy came for her once more, Selena hit below the belt with a nasty insult over her failed relationship with Selena's father. That was the last straw."

DANG.

"Selena and Mandy are not on talking terms right now."

Yeah, we'd think the f--k not.

Adult kids really know what to say to go right for the jugular. Most of us don't, though.

(I could watch a train wreck or surgery or whatever, but seeing my mom cry kills me)

But it's been reported before that when Selena and her mom argue, it's no-holds-barred and they both blow up at each other ... and eventually reconnect.

That sounds ... perilous. You never know when something will be, you know, too much. They could ruin things permanently.

Let's hope that Justin Bieber, of all things, is not something that causes irreparable damage to Selena's relationship with her mom.

Plenty of people aren't thrilled with her choice, but her mom Mandy Teefey got so upset that she had a breakdown and was hospitalized over it.

Nobody worries like your mom worries, folks.

But now, Mandy Teefey is opening up and setting the record straight about some of the wild stories about her feud with Selena.

Selena Gomez has been through so, so much.

She's waging an uphill battle against Lupus that, at times, seems to rob her of her strength and her ability to live her life.

At present, her rumored feud with her mother doesn't seem to be doing her any favors, either.

While no one questions that Mandy Teefey isn't exactly over the moon about the revival of Jelena, some of the stories that have been floating around about their mother-daughter tensions have been ... quite something.

Like rumors that Selena was living with her mother and that her mom had somehow imposed a curfew upon her 25-year-old millionaire celebrity daughter in order to interfere with her romance.

Or rumors that she's "demanded" that Selena get a breathalyzer test while dating Bieber, which ... doesn't make any sense. (Selena's no alcoholic)

Speaking to Gossip Cop, Mandy Teefey wants to clear things up. First, she talks about Selena's battle with Lupus.

"When you are young, you feel invincible and she had to learn that she was not able to be your typical 20 year old."

That is so sad. But, of course, Mandy is so glad that Selena received a life-saving kidney transplant.

"Beyond blessed that we had Francia in our life," she said.

Francia Raisa made a truly powerful, selfless choice. And a dangerous one. Having a kidney removed is no joke.

Mandy says that, during the surgery, she was a "wreck inside not only for my daughter, but for Francia and her family."

Of course. That had to be a weird feeling. And, understandably, Mandy was very, very emotional throughout the ordeal.

"I am pretty sure I am banned from that hospital [now]."

That's a lot of nice stuff about Francia, but ... how does Mandy describe Selena?

"Brave and fearless."

Absolutely. To share her struggle with Lupus with the world, to share the news of her kidney transplant surgery, is a big deal.

But living her life every day, to the fullest, the way that Selana does is truly an act of courage.

"I was so proud of her bravery."

Remember, folks -- that kidney transplant wasn't a cure. Lupus has treatments, but no cure. And Selena's case of Lupus seems to be especially severe.

So, now that she's being directly interviewed, how does Mandy feel about Selena's latest reunion with the Biebs?

"Not happy."

That much, we knew, but it sure would have been interesting if Mandy were pretending that it's totally fine.

"Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe, and healthy."

Those are some very reasonable caveats.

But the relationship that she describes having with Selena isn't exactly the feud that we've been hearing about.

"Every mother and daughter has disagreements."

And Mandy denies that her relationship with her daughter began to crumble in 2014 when she stopped being Selena's manager.

We'd heard reports that Selena's reunion with Bieber was just one source of conflict.

"We never expected to manage her her whole life. We lost family time because the only time we saw her, we talked business."

We were going to say that sounds like no fun, but Mandy beat us to it.

"It was no longer fun for any of us, like it was when she was younger and we had to be with her because she was a minor."

Mandy sounds determined to quash the feud rumors, saying of Selena:

"She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed."

Well, surely no one really believed that Mandy was somehow giving her adult millionaire celebrity daughter a curfew.

"Selena is an adult and can make her own choices."

That's very true. We don't have to agree with Selena's choices in order to like her, folks.

Sometimes, your fave does something problematic. Defending them can get tiring. You start to question whether they're still a problematic fave or if you've stopped being a fan.

But as draining as that can be for fans, it has to be exhausting for friends and family. And it sure seems like Mandy Teefey is tired of going to bat for her daughter, Selena Gomez.

When fans asked Mandy on instagram about Selena's controversial involvement with acused child-molester Woody Allen, Mandy ... threw Selena under the bus.

Despite efforts by Selena and her mom to quash feud rumors, it's clear that there's been tension between the singer and her mother.

One major factor, of course, and probably the reason that we're all talking about this, is Justin Bieber.

See, Justin's not just content to ruin his body -- he and Selena are now back together. And her mother is ... not taking it well. Based on what a poorly behaved little trash boy Justin used to be, we get it.

While some of the rumors about their disagreements have been absurd, Mandy Teefey did wind up at the hospital because she got so upset about Jelena's revival.

They also have older conflicts. Reportedly, when Selena dropped her mom as her manager back in 2014, it created a serious rift, though Mandy denies that it's an issue.

Until now, though, we didn't realize that yet another point of disagreement between mother and daughter was over Woody Allen.

Recently, Ellen Pompeo ruthlessly slammed Woody Allen and the stars who work with him.

It's not difficult to figure out why.

Several years ago, Dylan Farrow revealed that Woody Allen had molested her as a child.

She describes a harrowing incident when she was 7 years old. Woody Allen has always denied the accusations, but they're pretty well-known.

Also he married a much younger woman whom he also raised for years. Many feel that he effectively married his daughter.

Despite that, inexcusably, multiple actors who should know better have worked with Woody Allen.

And, recently, Selena Gomez stuck a dagger in the collective hearts of her fans by becoming one of them.

Several fans wrote comments under Mandy Teefey's Instagram, imploring her to "make" Selena apologize for working with Woody Allen and/or sever all ties with the accused child-molester.

With these requests came a confession that a number of selenators are fatigued from having to defend Selena for something that they don't consider very defensible.

Sure, some assumed that maybe Selena wasn't fully aware of Woody Allen's reputation (celebrities exist in a bubble, after all)

A couple of fans wrote similar messages (managing to misspell Woody Allen's name in different ways, but frankly, that's the least of what he deserves).

And Mandy Teefey decided to reply.

Selena Gomez's mom wrote back:

"Sorry, No one can make Selena do anything she doesn’t want to."

In another context, that might have been intended as a compliment. In this case ... it was not.

"I had a long talk with her about not working with him and it didn’t click."

She also wanted to shut down accusations that Selena's PR team doesn't do her any good.

"Her team are amazing people. There is no fall person here."

One of the downsides of always being in charge is that the blame for your choices falls at your feet.

Mandy Teefey continues:

"No one controls her. She makes all her own decisions."

That's one of the pitfalls of being an adult. You make your own decisions -- and your own mistakes.

"No matter how hard you try to advise. It falls on deaf ears."

That is ... truly disappointing. You always want to believe that someone had just been misinformed.

Based upon this, it sounds like Selena cares more about her film career than she does about right and wrong.

A lot of selenators are crushed by this, but ... it's good to know.

Selena Gomez is thinking about more than just her libido these days.

Fans have been concerned about the singer for several weeks now, worried that she's only back together with Justin Bieber because she can't resist his charm, his handsome face and his well-sculpted body.

But it's now been made clear that Gomez has a lot more on her mind than merely jumping back into bed with her ex.

She also has her mind on her mind.

E! News has confirmed the surprising news that the beloved artist and actress recently completed a two-week treatment program for depression and anxiety.

Did anyone else know she had been in rehab for half of January?!?

This was unexpected news to us when we first read it.

"She had a difficult year, especially towards the end, and she decided she wanted to spend some time focusing on herself," a source told E! News about Selena's decision, adding:

"It was all about wellness and her health."

We most certainly admire Gomez for taking this step and for putting her mental health above all else.

The singer canceled part of her "Revival" tour in the summer of 2016 to check into rehab as well.

She later told Teen Vogue that her "self-esteem was shot" at the time.

How was this possible when she was so incredibly popular back then?

"As soon as I became the most followed person on Instagram, I sort of freaked out," she explained. "It had become so consuming to me. It’s what I woke up to and went to sleep to. I was an addict."

So she spent 90 days under the care of a therapist, away from the public spotlight.

"You have no idea how incredible it felt to just be with six girls, real people who couldn’t give two shits about who I was, who were fighting for their lives," Gomez said to the magazine, concluding early last year:

“It was one of the hardest things I’ve done, but it was the best thing I’ve done.”

An insider tells Us Weekly that Selena has the same reaction so far to her latest rehab stint.

“It’s about physical, mental wellness and clean eating," this tabloid reports. "She feels great."

Gomez broke up with The Weeknd in the fall of 2017 and then quickly got back into a relationship with Bieber.

This cause major tension between Selena and her mother, who remains worried that Justin is not good for her daughter.

It's hard to blame anyone close to Gomez for thinking this, considering all the young stars have been through as a couple and also as ex-lovers.

Neither Gomez nor Bieber has spoken out much about the rekindled romance, but sources have said they are attending church together and even couples therapy.

They really do want to get it right this time around.

“She doesn’t want to slip back to where she was ever,” the Us Weekly source adds. “She always wants to be proactive.”

For the record, we can now confirm Gomez sought professional help last month in New York City.

Bieber was apparently aware of her choice to do so and completed supported his girlfriend in this endeavor.

Concludes the E! insider of these stars, who were spotted together again this week in Los Angeles, looking pretty darn happy:

"Everyone around them knows how much they mean to each other and they are truly on a great path together."

Let's hope so.

Selena Gomez didn't really take anyone by surprise late last year when she got back together with Justin Bieber.

We always knew those kids would find a way back into each other's arms and crotches.

But the singer did take us by surprise just a few days ago.

We were stunned to learn earlier this month that Gomez had checked herself into rehab.

Multiple sources confirmed at the time that Selena spent two weeks under the care of professionals, with one insider explaining her decision to E! News as follows:

"She had a difficult year, especially towards the end, and she decided she wanted to spend some time focusing on herself. It was all about wellness and her health."

It wasn't the first time she sought such help, either.

In September of 2016, Gomez also checked herself into a similar facility, as she battled at the time against the negative effects of Lupus.

Now, in a cover story for the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar, the singer opens up like never before about her mental health; where it's at; and where she knows it will never be.

We'll let Selena explain...

"I’ve had a lot of issues with depression and anxiety, and I’ve been very vocal about it, but it’s not something I feel I’ll ever overcome.

"There won’t be a day when I’m like, ‘Here I am in a pretty dress - I won!’

"I think it’s a battle I’m gonna have to face for the rest of my life, and I’m okay with that because I know that I’m choosing myself over anything else. I’m starting my year off with that thought.

"I want to make sure I’m healthy. If that’s good, everything else will fall into place.”

That's a very positive attitude for Gomez to take.

Just like being an alcohol, someone who is diagnosed as Depressed is that way for life.

He or she can get better, of course, but there's no actual cure of any kind.

Gomez has not released a new studio album since 2015.

And it doesn't sound like we'll get one this year, either.

"My next album has been forever in the making," she admits, explaining why as follows:

"When people ask me why, I’m honest about it: It’s because I haven’t been ready.

"I mean, point-blank, I don’t feel confident enough in where my music is yet. If that takes 10 years, then it takes 10 years. I don’t care.

"Right now I just want to be super intentional with all of the things I’m doing."

It's worth noting that Gomez underwent a kidney transplant just a few months ago.

She's been through A LOT of late.

Selena actually talks to 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford for this interview.

She tells the actress that she rarely goes anyplace "trendy" and that her social media popularity comes with some major strings attached.

“I have a complex relationship with Instagram, to say the least,” she explains.

Why would this be?

Well...

“It has given me a voice amid all the noise of people trying to narrate my life for me and allows me to say, ‘Hey, I’m gonna post this, and this is gonna take care of the 1,200 stories that people think are interesting but actually aren’t, and aren’t even true.’

"So it empowers me in that way because it’s my words and my voice and my truth. The only thing that worries me is how much value people our age place on social media.

"It’s an incredible platform, but in a lot of ways it’s given young people, myself included, a false representation of what’s important. So, yeah, it’s a complex relationship.

"Probably one of my most difficult relationships.”

Last week, we learned that Selena Gomez had completed a stint in rehab.

It's unclear exactly what prompted the singer to seek help, but she was reportedly in treatment for two weeks.

The move coincides with Selena's reconciliation with Justin Bieber, and many fans assumed her mental state had deteriorated as a result of the relationship.

That doesn't appear to be the case, however, as those who know the couple best claim that Justin has been a much-needed source of support and stability in recent weeks.

According to Page Six, Selena and Justin were spotted walking together in Laguna Beach, California over the weekend.

Their romantic stroll came just days after they were photographed enjoying an evening out together at the Sunset Tower Hotel.

While it may have appeared to be nothing more than a quiet night out to onlookers, the date actually had considerable significance for Selena:

“It was [one of] her first nights out in public since rehab. They were seated away from all the action outside by the pool for privacy,” a source tells Page Six.

“They seemed very sweet together, cozying up and canoodling. He was being very tender and attentive . . . a sweet, supportive boyfriend.”

So there you have it.

It seems hell has frozen over and Justin Bieber has actually turned a new leaf.

As you'll likely recall, Justin was pretty much the worst boyfriend imaginable for much of his tumultuous relationship for Selena, but it sounds like he's currently making up for lost time.

Of course, last we heard, Selena's family still hates Bieber, and it'll likely be quite some time before he's able to change their minds.

It's one thing to convince your ex that you're a changed man, but it's quite another to convince her mother that things will be different this time.

But hey, if the rumors are true, and Justin and Selena are really in it for the long haul then he'll have plenty of time to win over the Gomez clan.

And if he can't ... well, there are worse things than being hated by your in-laws.

Now that we know Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are really back together, we suppose it was only a matter of time before the marriage rumors began.

Yes, talk of Justin and Selena getting married has been circulating since the singers' early days as a couple, and it seems fans are once again convinced that Gomez will soon become Mrs. Biebs.

“Justin would get on one knee and propose to Selena right now if it was down to just him and how he feels, but it’s not, so he’s waiting until it’s the right time,” an insider tells Hollywood Life.

It seems Bieber is more patient and mature these days, and thus understands the importance of taking things slowly.

“One of the biggest lessons Justin has learned from his and Selena’s failed past relationships is to not be so selfish, and to try and put Selena first, ahead of his own goals and desires.”

And apparently, he's not the only one who understands the importance of not rushing in.

As you may know, Selena's mother, Mandy Teefey, is no fan of Justin.

It's not hard to see how that might be the case, as there was a time when he was pretty much the worst boyfriend imaginable, and he seemed to be going out of his way to ruin her life.

“Selena has made it clear to Justin that she doesn’t want to rush things, and she doesn’t want them to be living out of each other’s pocket—she wants them to take things slowly and enjoy their personal space," says the source.

"Equally important though, is Selena’s relationship with her mom—Justin knows how much Selena loves Mandy, and it’s one thing for her to date Justin against her mom’s wishes, but getting engaged to him would be a whole different matter.

The insider says Justin is cool with the situation and has accepted the fact that it may be quite some time before he and Selena are able to take the next step.

"Justin knows he has to be patient, and bide his time, until Mandy eventually comes around to accepting him back into her daughter’s life once again," the source tells Hollywood Life.

Of course, it's anyone's guess what sort of timeline Justin has in mind.

This is not a guy who's used to delayed gratification of any sort.

So don't be surprised if Justin ends up popping the question much sooner than anyone expected.

Poor Mandy Teefey. If Selena Gomez's mom was hospitalized over Selena getting back together with Justin Bieber, we can only imagine how she'll respond to this news.

Honestly, this could leave a lot of fans divided. Or disappointed.

A new report claims that Selena Gomez is pregnant and that Justin Bieber is the baby daddy.

So, Justin and Selena took a trip to Laguna Beach earlier in February. NW claims that this is when the couple bonded over some big news.

"The word is that Selena is pregnant and told Justin as much during their trip."

That would be some major news to break.

"Justin wasn’t expecting it, but he’s ecstatic about it. It’s a dream come true."

if he wanted Selena back for good, getting her pregnant sure might work.

"Pals say they’ve been casual with contraception because they are both keen to make this happen at some point."

The report goes on to claim that this is more or less an act of providence.

"They know there’s never going to be a perfect time, so they’ve been putting their faith in God’s hands."

That claim ties in to Selena's idea that God blesses her reunion with the Biebs and with Justin recently ending his tour to spend more time at church.

The report suggests that this accident was a happy one.

"This is something they both want."

They're both at odd places in their lives to have a kid, so that's ... an interesting claim.

"Selena has always liked the idea of being a young mum and Justin is desperate to settle down."

There were even claims that Selena is following a safe pregnancy checklist, "steering clear of alcohol, sushi, and soft cheeses to be safe."

(Those would be pretty standard precautions for a pregnant woman, and match up with Kim Kardashian's surrogate's dietary restrictions)

And then there's Bieber's side, with claims that he's "started following pregnancy accounts on Instagram and posed for photos with a fan’s baby while out in L.A."

Justin Bieber follows all kinds of accounts, folks. Also, he's been posing with babies for years.

Babies are cute. They're not, um, evidence of more babies.

In real life, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been in Jamaica for Justin's dad's wedding.

And Gossip Cop reports that, also in real life, Selena is not pregnant with Justin's baby. And probably not with anyone's.

The timing for this wouldn't be great, right?

Justin only recently managed to get out of what was reportedly a life-threatening substance abuse issue.

His own manager feared that he would die, just a few years ago, if he went on tour.

In the mean time, Selena Gomez received a kidney transplant just last year. It saved her life but did not cure her Lupus.

Until very recently, doctors discouraged women with Lupus from getting pregnant, due to risks to their lives and their baby's. Now, those risks are lower.

But given the severity of Selena's health battle, some wonder if a pregnancy would be a fatal mistake.

Now whatever you may think of Selena falling back into bad habits by dating a man some might characterize as an inked trash gremlin who's not even hot anymore, we should remember:

That's her choice.

Fans don't have to agree with her love life.

But everyone can breathe a sigh of relief with the report that Selena is not pregnant. Those who admire her music, her acting, and her as a person want her to be around and healthy for a long, long time.

A couple of weeks ago, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux confirmed their split. It's over. But hey, they're still friends.

Since their confirmation, they haven't been very outspoken ... but now, Justin Theroux is finally breaking his Instagram silence.

So what does he have to say?

Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston's relationship did not last forever.

Though the couple only mentioned going their separate ways when they announced to the world that they were going to remain friends, it was clear to many that they've resolved to divorce.

The fact that they can go through a split so amicably is a sign that their bond is healthy and strong.

While fans wonder and tabloids speculate about what went wrong, the couple themselves don't seem to feel especially driven to tell the world anything beyond that they're breaking up and will remain friends.

But now, Justin Theroux has broken his silence on Instagram.

In the captions beside some adorable photos, Theroux wrote:

"Texas!!! [star emoji]"

A star emoji. Get it? Because Texas is the Lone Star State.

"Another very inspiring visit with the incredible people and pups @austinpetsalive."

Awwww!

Not only is it wonderful that he lends his fame and platform to such a worthy cause -- no-kill shelters and animal adoption -- but he has to know that interest in his social media activity is at a high point.

His captions marvel at the work that the people at the shelter do.

"I cannot understand how they do what they do, day after day, so consistently and lovingly to save so many dogs and cats."

And he endorses anyone and everyone going by to see the precious dogs.

"I HIGHLY recommend going in and getting your nose bit by a toothless baby pitbull."

That is a very compelling sales pitch.

"These two aren’t yet ready to go, but when they are go get em..."

He gives some shout outs.

"Oh! And hey Houston! You have a Pets Alive no kill shelter there too! @houstonpetsalive Thank you APA!"

He then adds a series of tags.

"#pitbull #austin #texas #adoptdontshop #seniordogsrule ...and #selenagomez"

That last one, while falling short of actually tagging Selena Gomez, is followed by a lengthy message that is perhaps the most absurd use of Instagram tagging that we've ever seen.

"#Yeahthatsrightselenaididittoyouagainbutifyousawtheseguysyouddowhateveryoucouldtooalsoiknowyourechilllikethat"

That reads: "Yeah, that's right, Selena. I did it to you again. But if you saw these guys you'd do whatever you could, too. Also, I know you're chill like that."

Now, Selena Gomez and Jennifer Aniston are known to be friends, which is almost certainly how Justin Theroux and Selena know each other.

But it's funny that he should mention her.

After all, Jennifer Aniston was spotted cozying up to The Weeknd at Ellen DeGeneres' birthday party ... in a photo snapped by Oprah herself.

The two of their exes were spotted side-by-side, and now he's (almost) messaging Selena Gomez with animal adoption.

Some might wonder if he's looking to get revenge.

Much more likely, however, Justin Theroux knows that Selena has a weakness for puppies (who doesn't?) and also that her Instagram power is unmatched.

Though the newly single Justin Theroux broke his Instagram silence to message Selena, Selena's giving a shout-out to a very different Justin.

Justin Bieber, of course. Thursday was his birthday. 

Selena is using her legendary Instagram clout to wish her on-again boyfriend a happy birthday ... somewhat cryptically.

Yes, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are really back together, despite the hopes of many fans and, apparently, all of Selena's family that she not repeat past mistakes.

But the world is meant to believe that Justin Bieber has totally transformed. That he no longer suffers from alleged substance abuse and addiction that his own management worried would claim his life.

That he'll no longer partake in the terrible, juvenile, and often illegal behavior for which he was so infamous just a few years ago.

Apparently, Justin Bieber is way more into his religion these days. Which reportedly has led Selena to feel that God has blessed their reunion.

And now, Selena has posted this.

That polaroid which is affixed to Selena's beautiful forehead in this photo is a picture of the Biebs.

In case fans somehow missed it, though, Selena Gomez posted this caption.

"March 1, 1994 someone I know that happens to be super cool was born. Boom."

Justin Bieber was, of course, born on that date.

He is now 24 years old and getting yet another chance at happiness with one of the most talented and exceptional human beings on the planet.

We hope that he counted his blessings.

And we can't imagine what he wished for when he blew out his candles -- what more could he ask for?

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber recently celebrated Justin's once-deadbeat father's wedding with him in Jamaica.

Not only were the two practically joined at the hip for this happy occasion, they also spent time joined at the lips.

"They were kissing and hugging throughout the morning," E! reports about Jelena's tropical makeout.

The details make it all sound very romantic.

"He rubbed sunscreen all over her back, and they enjoyed the pool and being outside..."

What matters isn't what fans think of Justin or their reunion, but how Selena feels about all of this.

"They looked extremely happy."

Awww, good for them!

As for those who accuse Selena of repeating past mistakes, well, E!'s insider claims that this is something else.

"Everything is so different this time around."

Well, they've both lived their lives and grown as individuals since they last broke up.

"This time around, Justin is behaving like a gentlemen and showing how much he cares about her."

That's certainly very nice to hear. We hope that it lasts.

"He's is a lot more open about his feelings towards Selena, which has been a big sign of him maturing."

Awwww! Very different from the guy who couldn't express his affections unless he was drunk whom Selena describes in her song, "Sober."

Obviously, the renewed closeness of this couple has led to rumors.

Some have claimed that Selena Gomez is pregnant with Justin Bieber's baby -- she is not.

In the light of Selena's ongoing struggle with Lupus, a devastating autoimmune disorder that caused her to get a kidney transplant last June and which continues to threaten her life, those rumors are almost cruel.

But, bittersweetness aside, this was a wholesome post by Selena.

We hope that she and the Biebs enjoyed his 24th birthday.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have once again ended their relationship.

At least for now.

But they'll probably get back together.

Not that this is even a real break-up, sources explain.

Confused? Welcome to the romantic world of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

According to E! News, the artists are slowing things down considerably at the moment, taking a break from a dalliance that had heated up quickly after last year's reconciliation.

The artists got back together for approximately the 39th time in November, very shortly after Gomez split from The Weeknd.

Multiple insiders said last fall that Bieber was inspired to start doing Gomez again after the latter underwent a kidney transplant and he came close to losing her...

... forever.

The stars have since been spotted out in public often, getting meals together and attending church services and seeming very happy.

So, what's going on?

"They were having a lot of little disagreements recently and one fight in particular blew up and caused them to decide to break up," E! reports, putting these final two words in quotation marks and adding:

"However, they've been in contact the entire time and their feelings for each other have not changed."

Not to go all Ross and Rachel on you, but this sounds like more than a break than a break-up.

It also sounds like a sign of maturity, doesn't it?

As if Selena and Justin recognize the way in which one fight would snowball in the past, leads to more fights and further tension and an eventual split?

Therefore, they've chosen now instead to just take a deep breath and relax, safe under the assumption that cooler heads will prevail and boots will soon be knocking again.

"They will absolutely get back together and they are not over, but they both need some time away from each other," says this source.

Since becoming a couple again, Bieber and Gomez have gone on trips together to Mexico, Jamaica, Seattle and Laguna Beach.

They've also agreed to attend couples counseling, well aware that intense feelings for each other are not enough to sustain a romance.

They need to learn and heed other lessons as well.

"I’m 25. I’m not 18, or 19, or 20. I cherish people who have really impacted my life," Selena has said the one recent time she spoke out about Bieber, elaborating vaguely:

"So maybe before, it could have been forcing something that wasn’t right.

"But that doesn’t mean caring for someone ever goes away."

Selena and Justin haven't seen each other since February 28, this E! insider claims.

But they have been in contact and they are mostly trying to figure out the best way to move forward while dating in the bright glare of the spotlight.

"They both have expressed that they have been feeling overwhelmed with a lot of pressure that has come with their public relationship, and haven't been seeing eye to eye on things," reports E!.

It hasn't helped, meanwhile, that Selena's mother is strongly against this rekindled relationship.

She just thinks Bieber has burned her daughter too many times in the past.

Gomez really wants the support of her family, so she's taking some time to mend this fence while she takes a brief hiatus from cuddling up to Bieber.

Makes sense to us.

Heck, this is actually an encouraging sign overall to us.

According to recent reports, Justin Bieber wanted to get back together with Selena Gomez last year after he realized that he nearly lost his ex to a kidney transplant.

The dangerous procedure made Bieber realize just how much Selena truly meant to him.

But was Justin aware of just how close we all came to truly losing Selena?

Forever?!?

In a new interview with W Magazine, Francia Raisa opens up about the unique donation she made to her best friend last summer.

The actress, who currently stars on Grown-ish, actually gave Gomez her kidney, following complications from Selena's Lupus diagnosis that caused this organ of her to shut down.

Shortly after news of this procedure went public, Raisa said she didn't even think twice about the life-saving gift, stating simply and admirably:

"I am beyond grateful that God would trust me with something that not only saved a life, but changed mine in the process."

Pretty incredible, right?

Now, meanwhile, Raisa is sharing new details about the surgery, specifically about how Selena nearly died as a result of the very serious ordeal.

 

"Recovery was hard,” Raisa tells W. “I didn’t want to eat, I didn’t want to drink anything."

From there, the actress revealed shocking and upsetting information about Gomez, something we had notpreviously heard in regard to her kidney transplant:

"Selena did have a complication, too. A few hours after our surgery, I woke up and had a text from her that said, ‘I’m really scared.’ My kidney was very active, and when it turned I broke an artery.

"They had to take her into emergency surgery and get a vein from her leg and build a new artery to keep my kidney in place.

"She could have died.”

Wow. 

What else is there to say, but... wow.

Selena has talked here and there about the exhaustion she sometimes experiences as a result of her Lupus.

It has caused her to cancel a few concerts and to take a few breaks from the spotlight on occasion.

But she didn't make public just how serious the illness had become last year, remaining silent about the kidney transplant until after it was successful and both she and Raisa were on a path to recovery.

At that time, she posted the following picture (which has been Liked over 10 million times) and wrote the following lengthy caption...

I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of.

So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health.

I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you.

Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery.

And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me.

I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made.

Gomez did briefly touch on this complication in her chat with Savannah Guthrie in October of 2017, telling the Today anchor at the time:

"It was a six-hour surgery that they had to do on me, and the normal kidney process is actually two hours. Apparently, one of the arteries had flipped.

"I'm very thankful that there are people that know what to do in that situation."

Still, we had no idea Selena nearly died as a result.

We're ever so grateful that she survived.

As previously reported, Selena Gomez nearly died from last summer's kidney transplant.

Thankfully, however, she survived and is now thriving.

But now fans of the singer are wondering about her relationship with Justin Bieber... which may be on life support.

The artists, who got back together for approximately the 79th time in November, are now taking a break from their rekindled romance, multiple sources confirmed a few days ago.

This is not a break up, these insiders insist, but just a step away from how serious the relationship had become after just a few months.

"They were having a lot of little disagreements recently and one fight in particular blew up and caused them to [make this decision]," according to E! News.

This outlet was quick to add the following, though:

"They've been in contact the entire time and their feelings for each other have not changed."

So... what the heck is going on?

What has driven these stars apart, even just temporarily, when it took them so long to find their way back to each other?

“Selena and Justin decided to take a break mainly because of Selena’s mom and her disapproval of Justin," a source tells Us Weekly, surprising exactly no one who has been following the journey of these singers.

Adds the tabloid:

"Justin’s family loves Selena, but Selena’s family has put her in a very conflicting spot because they still don’t trust Justin.

Selena has tried to convince her family that Justin has changed … but her family just isn’t budging right now.”

This isn't the first (or second... or third...) time that we've heard Selena's mother has a major problem with her daughter dating Bieber.

In mid-December, it was even reported that Mandy Teefy (pictured below with her famous child) had to be hospitalized as the result of a Bieber-related breakdown.

It's also been reported that Selena didn't spend Thanksgiving with her boyfriend due to this ongoing tension.

“Her relationship with Justin has really affected her relationship with her mom, and it’s been hard for her because she is super close with her mom," Us Weekly continues.

"Her mom was her rock when she was having her health complications.

"Justin and Selena decided to take a break to give her family some more time to heal and take in the idea of her and Justin being a couple again.”

Sounds pretty mature, actually.

And also like Selena really is just like many other young women her age, trying to convince her parent that the man of her dreams is not actually a nightmare.

Not that anyone can blame Teefy for having reservations, right?

Bieber has broken Selena's heart on numerous occasions in the past.

It would almost be weird if Selena's loved ones didn't give her a hard time about this reconciliation; at least this shows that Mandy cares.

For now, we'll just hope that Selena really is working on her relationship with her mom and that the two will soon kiss and make up... 

... so that Gomez can return to doing a lot more than just kissing Bieber. If you know what we mean.

In reality, the singer is a sad, beaten, desperate young man who just wants to spend the rest of his life with the woman he loves.

For once, however, Bieber is being forced to ask himself the following:

Does Selena Gomez really love me back?!?

This question is reportedly being asked by Justin in response to the break he's been forced to take with Selena.

As you undoubtedly heard back in November, Gomez and Bieber decided to give their romance yet another try after the former underwent a kidney transplant and the latter realized how much he really did care for her.

Since then, we've heard reports of Gomez and Bieber attending couples therapy together and seeming very serious about their reconciliation.

So... why are they on a break?

Why are they still in contact, and presumably still planning on resuming their sexual activities, yet are currently not seeing each other very often?

One insider points the finger of blame at Selena's mother, who remains angry at Bieber over the way he treated her daughter back in the day.

“Selena and Justin decided to take a break mainly because of Selena’s mom and her disapproval of Justin," Us Weekly wrote this week of the latest between the artists.

This source went on to say that Gomez just needs some time right now to make sure her mom is okay with everything.

It would make sense. It would be very sweet of Selena.

But it's complete BS, Radar Online alleges!

Someone tells this website that Gomez simply needed to walk away from Bieber because he was getting overbearing.

"Selena just felt like Justin was smothering her all the time and she could not deal with his constant questioning," claims this anonymous source.

That would be quite the 180, huh?

In the past, it was always Bieber telling Gomez that he needed a hiatus because she was coming on too strong.

"Justin is a train wreck right now and he is begging her to just stay," Radar adds.

"He feels like he changed his whole life for her and became the person she wanted him to be all along."

Wow. Heavy stuff.

And it's sort of echoed by People Magazine.

This publication doesn't come out and paint Bieber as a broken soul in the same manner as Radar.

But it does cite issues between the superstars that go beyond one parent's disapproval.

"They have their own issues and are always on and off,” says a source about the couple, adding:

"She wouldn’t base her relationship off of what her mom thinks."

This said, the same insider says he or she wouldn't be surprised of Justin and Selena got back together within "a week."

And that basically sums these crazy kids up, doesn't it?

They have their problems. They sometimes go their separate ways, but let's face:

When push comes to shove and boots get to knocking, they will always find their way back into each other's arms.

Fans weep, either with grief or relief, at the news that Selena and Justin have broken up.

Selena is also processing it ... by donning a bikini and adventuring Down Under on a yacht. She won't let her surgical scars hold her back from living her life.

She wrote a caption for this video.

"The beauty myth," she begins. "An obsession with physical perfection."

There is actually a non-fiction book by Naomi Wolf titled The Beauty Myth, but this is not the book that has a cameo in the video below.

Selena then says that this obsession "traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty."

Some might deride Selena, who is famously beautiful, for this statement, but, as we'll explain, she has every right to make this statement.

"I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone."

In the video itself, Selena Gomez and her companions are taking it easy on a yacht off of the coast of Australia.

Before you salivate at your screen wishing that you could quantum leap into Selena or one of her companions and live a similar life of luxury, remember that Selena's been in the entertainment industry since she was a child.

Also, she very nearly died last year. She's earned her lifestyle and she's also earned the right to have some fun.

As for why she chose Australia -- viewers can see that she's in Sydney Harbor during at least parts of the video -- we can only guess.

Maybe Selena figured that if Lupus can't kill her, then Australia's notoriously scary fauna can't, either.

it is widely believed that Selena's message about body image and her appearance on video in a bikini is not a coincidence.

And no, it's not because she's trying to land a replacement now that the Biebs is destroyed, devastated, and broken by their breakup.

She was recently spotted out and about in a bikini, with her scars on display.

Fans know this, so she's speaking from the heart to make sure that they understand that she's not ashamed of her scars, but she is conscious of them.

They're new, and they're a reminder of how close she came to losing her life.

So ... please don't ask why she might feel that body image issues and beauty standards are sometimes unfair, folks.

Overall, the video is cute and fun.
