On 17th second thought, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are actually NOT back together.
The Internet has been abuzz over this seemingly rekindled romance after Bieber posted a photo of himself and his ex online last week, including with it a one-word caption: #heartbreaker.
This had to mean Jelena was a go once again... right?
Wrong, an insider tells E! News.
"They are trying to maintain a friendship" and nothing more, the source says of Justin and Selena, who just happened to attend the same Fourth of July party on Thursday.
There's nothing more to it than that, according to the source.
Bieber and Gomez split in November, with the former going through a downward spiral ever since.
Even if they are on good terms now, scheduling would make it difficult for the artists to truly get back together.
Justin is currently on tour in North America until mid-August. He will then take a mini hiatus before visiting Asia, South America and Australia until December 8.
Gomez is also promoting her new music with a world tour. It gets underway next month and concludes just after Thanksgiving in St. Louis.
